Elemental Analysis - Cesium (Cs)

Cesium is a rare, silvery-white color with bright blue streaks. It is a shiny metal. The name of the element comes from a Latin word meaning sky blue. It is the softest metal with a waxy consistency at room temperature. It melts in hand and is highly reactive to moisture.

Elemental Analysis - Cesium (Cs)

Cesium is a naturally occurring element, but almost never on its own, it is found in combination with several minerals. It has almost twice the density of water and is highly ductile.

Cesium is an alkali metal. Alkali metals are very soft, ductile and good conductors of heat and electricity.

Cesium is incredibly accurate in timekeeping and is used in atomic clocks. Cesium-based atomic clocks lose a second every 100 million years.

Cesium is one of four metals that is liquid at or near room temperature.

Cesium reacts violently with water and is considered a hazardous material. It is usually kept under a layer of kerosene or mineral oil or in a vacuum to prevent it from reacting and igniting due to moisture in the air.

Cesium is currently being investigated in the treatment of various types of cancer, including brain tumors.

In the tests and analyzes carried out in our institution, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also cesium (Cs) testing services within the framework of elemental analysis.
