ASTM D 4490, developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), provides a method for detecting and measuring the concentrations of toxic gases or vapors using detector tubes. A list of some of the gases and vapors that can be detected using this method, their 1994-95 TLV values, and measurement ranges are included in the standard appendix (Appendix A1). This list is provided as a guide and should not be considered exhaustive.

The full name of this standard is: ASTM D4490-96 (2016) Standard practice for measuring the concentration of toxic gases or vapors using detector tubes.
According to the relevant legal regulations, certain gases and vapors should not be present in the working environment atmospheres in concentrations above certain values. The ASTM D 4490 standard provides a means for determining the airborne concentrations of certain gases and vapors. This standard also provides for sampling gaseous atmospheres used for process control or other purposes.
In the test, analysis, measurement and evaluation studies carried out in our organization, national and international standards and applicable legal regulations are complied with and reliable and impartial results are obtained. These studies are based on the latest technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and modern methods. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, instant gas measurement with the detector tube, instant gas measurement with the detector tube, determination of toxic gas or vapor concentrations are also available.
