Ozone Release Test (ASTM D 4490)

Ozone Release Test (ASTM D 4490)

Ultraviolet rays were used for sterilization and disinfection in the middle of the twentieth century. With the developments in technology, reliable, thousands of hours life and smaller sized systems are produced. As such, the areas where it can be used are also expanding. Today, ultraviolet rays are used to disinfect water, air, fruits, vegetables, surgical instruments, tablet computers, toys and various surfaces.

Ozone Release Test (ASTM D 4490)

When it comes to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, there are different UV radiation systems that reduce wavelengths and increase energy. For UV sterilization, only systems ranging from 100-280 nm have sufficiently high energy to effectively kill microorganisms. UV sterilization is effective against viruses and bacteria. Studies show that a 254 nm system is effective against all foodborne pathogens, natural microbiota, molds, and yeasts. Microorganisms have different sizes and shapes, which affect their UV absorption, and the time required to kill them varies.

Systems produced in different ways, such as ambient disinfection and surface disinfection, in ventilation with ultraviolet rays should be inspected within the framework of relevant legal regulations. The ozone release limit for human exposure of these systems has to be 0,05 ppm.

In the test, analysis, measurement and evaluation studies carried out in our organization, national and international standards and applicable legal regulations are complied with and reliable and impartial results are obtained. These studies are based on the latest technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and modern methods. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also ozone emission test (ASTM D 4490) services.
