The ISO 13287 standard, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) , defines a test method for determining the slip resistance of personal protective equipment footwear. However, this test method is not applicable to shoes with pointed toes, metal studs, or similar special-purpose footwear. Shoes claiming slip resistance are considered part of personal protective equipment. For product development purposes, other sole components such as sole units, outsoles, or uppers are also tested according to this standard.

For the purposes of this standard,
A wide variety of slip resistance tests are available to determine the slip resistance of a shoe, including coefficient of friction tests, surface micro-roughness tests, and ramp tests.
Testing and evaluation of anti-slip properties is of great importance for the prevention of skid accidents. Numerous different test methods and rating systems have been adopted over the years to measure the slip resistance of floor coverings and shoes. These test methods are based on different principles and are used under different conditions, so there is no relationship between them.
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, our organization also provides testing services to determine the slip resistance of shoes as personal protective equipment, within the scope of ISO 13287 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
