The EN 50525-1 standard describes the general requirements for rigid and flexible power cables with rated voltages up to (inclusive) U0/U 450/750 V AC used in power installations and domestic and industrial devices and equipment. Test methods for checking compliance with these requirements are given in other parts of this standard.
EN 50525-2-11 standard applies to flexible cables with thermoplastic (PVC) insulation and PVC sheath. The cables have rated voltages U300/U up to (inclusive) 500/0 V. The cables are designed for connecting household appliances to a fixed supply. Circular cables and flat cables are included.
The EN 50525-2-12 standard applies to expandable ends with thermoplastic (PVC) insulation and PVC sheath. The cables have rated voltages U300/U up to (inclusive) 500/0 V. The cables are designed for connecting household appliances to a fixed supply. Circular cables and flat cables are included.
The EN 50525-2-21 standard applies to flexible cables insulated with a cross-linked elastomeric compound and coated with a cross-linked elastomeric compound or thermoplastic polyurethane. The cables have rated voltages U450/U up to (inclusive) 750/0 V. The cables are designed for a variety of applications where the device or equipment, including heavy industrial equipment, requires a flexible connection to the power supply.
The EN 50525-2-22 standard applies to cross-linked EPR insulated and textile braided flexible cables. The cables have a nominal voltage of U0/U 300/300 V. The cables are designed for connecting household appliances to the fixed supply where an extra flexible connection is required.
The EN 50525-2-31 standard applies to unsheathed single core cables insulated with thermoplastic (PVC) insulation. The cables have rated voltages U450/U up to (inclusive) 750/0 V. The cables are designed for fixed wiring applications.
The EN 50525-2-41 standard applies to unsheathed single-core cables insulated with halogen-free cross-linked compound and exhibiting low smoke and corrosive gas emissions when exposed to fire. Low smoke emission is checked according to the EN 61034-2 standard. Low corrosive gas emission is checked as part of the halogen-free testing. The cables have rated voltages U0/U up to (inclusive) 450/750 V.
EN 50525-2-42 standard applies to single core unsheathed cables with cross-linked elastomeric insulation. The cables have rated voltages U450/U up to (inclusive) 750/0 V.
EN 50525-2-51 standard applies to flexible cables with oil resistant polyvinyl chloride insulation and sheath. Screened and unshielded types are included. The cables have a nominal voltage U0/U 300/500 V. The cables are designed for interconnection of machine tools.
Standard EN 50525-2-71 applies to flexible flat tinsel flexible cables with thermoplastic (PVC) insulation. The cables have a nominal voltage of U0/U 300/300 V. The cables are designed for connecting small devices to fixed power supply.
The EN 50525-2-72 standard applies to straight split flexible cables with thermoplastic (PVC) insulation. The cables have a nominal voltage of U0/U 300/300 V. The cables are designed for indoor use as a direct supply connection to internal wiring or luminaires.
The EN 50525-2-81 standard applies to single-core, cross-linked elastomer-coated arc welding cables. The cables have a nominal voltage of U0/U 100/100 V. The cables are designed for connections between the welding power source and the electrode holder and workpiece. Two types of cables are included with Class D and Class E conductors, respectively.
The EN 50525-2-82 standard applies to cables with polychloroprene or other equivalent synthetic elastomer sheathed. The cables have rated voltages U300/U up to (inclusive) 500/0 V. The cables are designed for use as decorative chains and with special sockets.
EN 50525-2-83 standard applies to multi-core cables insulated and sheathed with heat resistant cross-linked silicone rubber. Types with or without a general textile weave and with or without tension-bearing elements are included. The cables have nominal voltages U0/U 300/500 V. The cables are designed for use in high temperature regions (for fixed installations with mechanical shielding or for flexible use under low mechanical stress).
The EN 50525-3-11 standard applies to flexible cables coated with an insulated and halogen-free thermoplastic compound and have low smoke and corrosive gas emissions when exposed to fire. Low smoke emission is controlled according to EN 61034-2 standard. Low corrosive gas emission is controlled as part of checking for halogen absence. The cables have rated voltages U300/U up to (inclusive) 500/0 V. The cables are designed for connecting household appliances to a fixed supply. Circular cables and flat cables are included.
The EN 50525-3-21 standard applies to flexible cables insulated and sheathed with a halogen-free cross-linked compound and have a low emission of smoke and corrosive gas when exposed to fire. Low corrosive gas emission is controlled as part of checking for halogen absence.
The EN 50525-3-31 standard applies to unsheathed single core cables insulated with a halogen-free thermoplastic compound and have low smoke and corrosive gas emissions when exposed to fire. Low smoke emission is controlled according to EN 61034-2 standard. Low corrosive gas emission is controlled as part of checking for halogen absence. The cables have rated voltages U450/U up to (inclusive) 750/0 V. The cables are designed for fixed wiring applications.
