The IEC 61238 standard published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) applies to compression and mechanical connectors for power cables with rated voltages within certain limits.

The IEC 61238 standard consists of the following three parts under the main heading "Compression and mechanical connectors for power cables":
The EN IEC 61238-1-1 standard describes the requirements and applied test methods for compression and mechanical connectors for power cables with copper or aluminum conductors. The scope of this standard includes conductors with nominal cross-sectional areas between 60228 mm2,5 and 2 mm1200 for copper and between 2 mm16 and 2 mm1200 for aluminum, conforming to the IEC 2 standard.
The EN IEC 61238-1-2 standard describes the requirements and applied test methods for insulation piercing connectors for power cables with copper or aluminum conductors. The scope of this standard includes conductors with nominal cross-sectional areas between 60228 mm2,5 and 2 mm300 for copper and between 2 mm16 and 2 mm500 for aluminum in accordance with the IEC 2 standard.
The EN IEC 61238-1-3 standard describes the requirements and applicable test methods for compression and mechanical connectors for power cables with copper or aluminum conductors. This standard covers conductors with nominal cross-sectional areas between 2,5 mm² and 1200 mm² for copper and between 16 mm² and 1200 mm² for aluminum, conforming to the IEC 60228 standard.
Our organization also provides compression and mechanical connectors testing services for power cables within the scope of IEC 61238 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors.
