The IEC 61482-1-2 standard published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) defines procedures for testing materials and protective clothing intended for use in heat and flame resistant clothing for workers in the face of an electric arc hazard. A standard is used to classify materials and clothing into two defined arc protection classes.

This standard is not intended to measure arc rating values (arc thermal performance value, energy limit value and electronic benefit transfer). Procedures for determining these arc rating values are defined in standard IEC 61482-1-1 using an open arc for testing. Effects other than the thermal effects of an electric arc, such as noise, light emissions, pressure rise, hot oil, electric shock, consequences of physical and mental shock, or toxic effects, are not covered by this standard. Protective clothing for work that consciously uses an electric arc, eg arc welding, plasma torch, is not covered by this standard.
Products certified according to the IEC 61482-1-2 standard provide users with protection against hazards caused by electrical arcs. During an arc explosion, clothing is exposed to flames, radiation, and metal fragments from the electrodes. Therefore, wearing the right clothing is important. The clothing must provide adequate insulation against all types of flames and metal fragments, and protect against intense heat and the risk of burns.
A box test involves subjecting both the fabric sample and a protective clothing made of the same fabric to an electric arc at body height to simulate a real accident situation. The box test tests thermal insulation, risk of burns (second-degree burns), and the functionality of the garment after exposure to an electric arc.
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it has given for businesses in various sectors, our organization, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, is a limited and directed arc against the thermal hazards of an electric arc, within the scope of the IEC 61482-1-2 standard. It also provides test (box test) services to determine the arc protection class of the material and clothing by using
