The IEC 60754-1 standard, published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) , describes a test procedure for determining the amount of halogenated acid gas, excluding hydrofluoric acid, that is produced during the combustion of halogenated polymer-based compounds and compounds containing halogenated additives obtained from electrical or fiber optic cable structures.

The test method described in this standard is designed for testing individual components used in a cable construction. Use of this method provides verification of the requirements specified in the appropriate cable specification for the individual components of a cable structure.
The following major technical changes have been made in the last update of this standard:
Essentially, the IEC 60754 standard consists of three parts:
Briefly, the test method described in the IEC 60754-1 standard is for determining the amount of halogen acid produced during the combustion of each combustible material of a cable. It is recommended that materials containing less than 5 mg/g (0,5 percent) halogen acid be tested in accordance with the IEC 60754-2 standard. With this test method, halogen acid gas other than hydrofluoric acid, which is produced by the combustion of compounds based on halogenated polymers and compounds containing halogen additives from cable structures, is detected. Halogens containing fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine and astatine are toxic.
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it has given for businesses in various sectors, our organization, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, aims to determine the halogen acid gas content, which is one of the gases that come out during the combustion of materials from cables, within the scope of IEC 60754-1 standard. It also provides testing services.
