The IEC 61851 standard published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) consists of the following sections under the main title of "Electric vehicle conductor charging system":

The IEC 61851-1 standard applies to power supply equipment required for charging electric road vehicles with a nominal supply voltage of up to 1000 Volts alternating current or 1500 Volts direct current and a nominal output voltage of up to 1000 Volts alternating current or 1500 Volts direct current.
Electric road vehicles include all road vehicles, including pluggable hybrid road vehicles, that derive all or part of their energy from on-board rechargeable energy storage systems. Matters covered by this standard are:
To supply or charge electric vehicles with electrical power by means of conductive power transmission with an output voltage of up to 61851 Volts alternating current or 21 Volts direct current and up to 2 Volts alternating current or 60038 Volts direct current, in accordance with IEC 1000-1500-1000 standard, IEC 1500 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements are defined for any onboard component or equipment of such systems used for This standard covers non-vehicle charging equipment for mode 1, mode 2, mode 3 and mode 4 charging as defined in the first chapter.
Cables without electronic/electronic switching are considered passive (benign) and comply with the emission and immunity requirements of this document without the need for testing. This standard does not apply to any onboard components or charging or power supply system equipment that is part of vehicles. Compliance with the emission and immunity requirements of this standard is verified when it can be demonstrated during type tests in the measurement arrangement of this standard that the equipment tested meets the relevant limits. The requirements for electric vehicle wireless power transmission systems are covered in the IEC 61980 standard.
The IEC 61851-25 standard applies to direct current electric road vehicle supply equipment for charging road electric vehicles with a rated supply voltage up to 480 Volts alternating current or 600 Volts direct current, with a rated output voltage of 120 Volts direct current and output currents not exceeding 100 Amps direct current. This standard describes the requirements for direct current electric road vehicle supply equipment where the secondary circuit is protected by electrical separation from the primary circuit. Bidirectional power flow requirements are beyond the scope of this standard. This standard also provides requirements for control and communication between DC electric road vehicle supply equipment and an electric road vehicle.
Matters covered by this standard are:
Additional requirements may apply for equipment designed for specific environments or conditions.
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, our organization also provides electric vehicle conductive charging system testing services within the scope of IEC 61851 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
