ICES 001 Industrial, Scientific and Medical Radio Frequency Generator Laboratory Test

ICES 001 Industrial, Scientific and Medical Radio Frequency Generator Laboratory Test

ICES establishes compliance laboratory test procedures based on radiated noise emissions. It assists companies producing advanced, electronic equipment in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests.

ICES 001 Industrial, Scientific and Medical Radio Frequency Generator Laboratory Test

The ICES 001 interference-causing equipment standard describes the technical requirements for noise emissions from ISM radio frequency generators.

ISM is classified as industrial, scientific and medical radio frequency generators. This means any ISM-interfering equipment that generates or uses radio frequency energy. This does not include telecommunications, information technology and other applications covered by similar standards.

The instrumentation and measurement methods described in this standard conform to the CISPR 11 standard (AS/NZS CISPR 11 Industrial, scientific and medical equipment - Radio frequency disturbance characteristics - Limits and methods of measurement).

According to the CISPR 11 standard, the load used when testing industrial equipment may be a service load or an equivalent device. While testing with the load used in the service, electrodes and cables are discarded according to their normal use. Measurements are made at both maximum output power and half maximum output power. Equipment that normally operates at zero or very low output power is also tested under these conditions. Scientific equipment is tested under normal operating conditions. Laboratory and measuring devices are operated in accordance with their purpose.

Equipment in the CISPR 11 EMC regulatory compliance standard is divided into two groups. The first group includes all equipment not classified in the second group. This group satisfies both the stated mean limit and the half-peak limit. The second group of equipment includes all industrial, scientific and medical radio frequency equipment in which radio frequency energy ranging from 9 Hz to 400 GHz is deliberately generated and used. These frequencies are also used for material processing and analysis purposes or the transmission of electromagnetic energy.

According to the ICES 001 standard, every industrial, scientific or medical radio frequency device must have a label affixed to the device.

Our organization also provides industrial, scientific and medical radio frequency generator laboratory testing services within the scope of ICES 001 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors.
