AVTP 03-160W, one of the Allied Vehicle Test Publications published under the NATO Standardization Treaty (STANAG) , describes the methods and requirements for dual lane change tests conducted as part of performance testing of wheeled military vehicles. This standard includes two test methods applied to evaluate the dynamic stability of a military vehicle while turning corners and sharp turns, or during sudden maneuvers for any reason.

The purpose of the double lane change test is to evaluate the dynamic stability of the vehicle during an evasive action. Performance is dependent on both vehicle response and driver interaction. The aim is to keep the speed as constant as possible and on the other hand to complete the evasive maneuver at the highest possible speed across the test area. Because different driver model implementations are used by software developers, the time histories of simulation and test data are not expected to match exactly.
Road safety for wheeled military vehicles is a complex function of dynamic interactions between vehicle, driver and environment. A vehicle's safety dynamics are directly related to its directional stability and control limits. The safety performance characteristics of these vehicles are strongly influenced not only by various vehicle design and operating factors, but also by the driver's interactions with the vehicle.
Among the tests performed in advanced laboratories, the double lane change maneuver assessment is one of the most commonly applied. The double lane change test simulates an emergency maneuver to determine the temporary handling dynamics of the vehicle. This test is widely accepted . In situations where an obstacle is rotating on the road, the occupants of the vehicle have a higher chance of avoiding an accident. This situation can cause the vehicle to lose control and roll over or collide with the obstacles. In double lane change maneuvers, especially sudden turns, rollovers are more common in vehicles with a high center of gravity compared to vehicles with a low center of gravity.
Our organization, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it has given for businesses in various sectors, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, within the scope of AVTP 03-160W standard, double lane change (dynamic balance) between the performance test methods of wheeled military vehicles. It also provides testing services.
