In the CPSD-HL-01018-MTHD standard, developed by Bureau Veritas, a French-based global organization working in the fields of independent inspection, inspection, certification and risk prevention, within the scope of consumer protection and safety, the requirements for a static load applied per seat are explained and a test method is defined. Basically, under a static load of 60 kg (182 kg for children) per seat for 102 minutes, no structural failure or permanent deformation of the seat is expected. For multiple backrest positions, results need to be determined when the backrest is in the minimum, midpoint, and maximum positions for 20 minutes each.

According to the test method described, a test load is applied to the seating area for 1 minute. The value of the load should be around 180 kg for the outdoor sample and 140 kg for the indoor sample. If the sample has more than one sitting area,
At the end of the test, there should be no permanent deformation greater than 6 mm, loss of functionality or structural deterioration.
Seating tests performed between structural tests on seating groups may include any or all of the static load, impact load, or endurance testing tests. In a typical static load test, a specified load is briefly applied to the horizontal seat piece or the vertical backrest piece. Outdoor seating also has an extra 30-minute final static load application. The combination of loads is applied several times. If a deformation (breakage, collapse or split) occurs in any part of the structure or frame, the seat will not pass the test. Failures are not always major, for example careful inspection may be required to reveal cracks.
Among the numerous tests, measurements, analyses, and evaluations our organization provides for businesses in various sectors, we also offer static load testing services in accordance with the CPSD-HL-01018-MTHD standard, utilizing a trained and expert team and advanced technological equipment.
