EN ISO 597-2, published by the International Standards Organization (ISO), provides a test method for assessing the flammability of mattresses and upholstered bed bases when exposed to a gas flame as an ignition source. Air bearings and water bearings are not covered by this standard.

According to the mentioned standard, the ignition criteria are determined as follows:
The test method presented in EN ISO 597-2 is designed to test the flammability of bedding components such as blankets, duvets, bedspreads and pillows, including thin, light mattresses used on mattresses. During the tests, the sample is placed on a metal base with the flame of a gas burner with a heat output equivalent to the flame of a lit match.
Among the numerous tests, measurements, analyses, and evaluations our organization provides for businesses in various sectors, we also offer services for the flammability assessment of mattresses and upholstered bed bases under the EN ISO 597-2 standard, including ignition source match flame equivalent testing, thanks to our trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
