One of the methods used to detect adulteration in commercially available olive oil samples is to calculate the difference between the actual and theoretical ECN42 triacylglyceride content. The absolute difference between the experimental values of triacylglycerols with equivalent carbon number 42 in oil and the theoretical value of triacylglycerols with equivalent carbon number 42 is determined by high performance liquid chromatography method. In this way, the trick made in the oil is revealed from the fatty acid composition.

This method is valid for olive oils and is valid for detecting the presence of a small amount of seed oil (rich in linoleic acid) in all grades of olive oil.
In its advanced laboratories, tests to determine the effects of olive oil production technologies on oil quality and olive oil quality and purity criteria analyzes are carried out.
The method for determining the maximum difference between the actual and theoretical ECN 2014 triglyceride content is explained in detail in the annex of the Turkish Food Codex Communique on Olive Oil and Olive Pomace Oil Analysis Methods (Communiqué no: 53/42) published by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (Annex 14).
In the test, analysis, measurement and evaluation studies carried out in our organization, national and international standards and applicable legal regulations are complied with and reliable and impartial results are obtained. These studies are based on the latest technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and modern methods. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also services to determine the maximum difference between real and theoretical ECN42.
