Octa chloro dibenzo furan compound is any environmental pollutant that is resistant to environmental degradation through photolytic, biological or chemical processes. Such substances have significant impacts on human health and the environment, as they remain in the environment, bioaccumulate in animal tissues and therefore grow biologically in food chains.

Furans and dioxins are chemical compounds that are not specially produced and are formed by the exposure of organic components to high temperatures in the presence of chlorine, generally as a result of industrial activities. In contrast, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are man-made organic chemical compounds formed with carbon, hydrogen, and chlorine atoms. These compounds, which were used in various industries until 1970, are no longer produced.
In fact, dioxins contain three groups of compounds: dioxins with multiple chlorine bonds, furans, and biphenyls. There are 7 dioxin, 10 furan and 18 chlorinated biphenyl (PCB) compounds controlled in legal regulations in the food industry and feed.
Dibenzofurans are organic compounds. It is a volatile white solid, soluble in non-polar organic solvents.
Polychlorinated dibenzo furans (PCDD) and polychlorinated dibenzo dioxins (PCDF) are compounds that are products of chemical processes in the industrial production of chlorinated organic compounds and are found almost everywhere in the environment. However, this situation poses a danger to human health. These chemical compounds accumulate in fatty foods such as whole milk and dairy products, meat and eggs and pass into the human body. If the number of chlorine attached to the molecule in these polychlorinated compounds is eight, it is called octa chloro dibenzo furan (OCDF) or octa chloro dibenzo dioxin (OCDD).
Today, there are 135 different octa chloro dibenzo furan compounds. Differences in physical and chemical properties of chlorinated dioxins depend on the chlorination level of chlorinated furan compounds. As the chlorination level increases, their solubility decreases and their oil solubility increases. In addition, the hydrophobic (water avoidance) and lipophilic (solubility) tendencies of these compounds are also increasing.
Our organization also provides OCDF (octa chloro dibenzo furan) analysis services with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors.
