Food security is among the biggest problems with the increase in population. Food security mainly has three main aspects: adequate food availability, access to safe food and the use of food for a healthy life. Failure of any of these aspects leads to food insecurity and malnutrition, which affects human health. In addition, food and feed contamination by mycotoxins is one of the key drivers of food insecurity.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), a quarter of the world's production is affected by mycotoxins. Among the various mycotoxins, aflatoxins are highly toxic and are known to contaminate a wide variety of foods such as corn, peanuts, dried fruits, meat and dairy-based products. Food processing techniques are not sufficient to remove aflatoxins from contaminated food and feed due to their heat resistant nature.
Cereals and grain-based products are major foods for human consumption worldwide. Among the cereals, rice and maize are often contaminated by aflatoxins in natural conditions due to innovations in agricultural practices. Aflatoxins are produced in both pre-harvest and post-harvest conditions.
On the other hand, heavy metals are widely found in the environment and enter foods. Although environmental pollution is most likely the main source, heavy metals also enter food through processing.
In our organization, testing, analysis, measurement, and evaluation studies comply with national and international standards and current legal regulations, ensuring reliable and unbiased results. Among the numerous tests conducted within this scope are microbiology, heavy metal, and aflatoxin analysis services for food supplements.
