Baby Product Tests

Baby Product Tests

Advanced laboratories run a series of tests on consumer baby products to confirm that they meet industry standards for safety. Many baby products are subject to regulations that restrict the use of harmful substances. Babies are extremely sensitive to chemicals that have the potential to be found in everyday items such as sippy cups, strollers, toys and pacifiers.

For example, a few chemical compounds found in baby products are: bisphenol A (BPA), phthalates, flame retardants, and formaldehyde.

Bisphenol A is found in the plastics used in food and beverage containers. Even in small quantities, it is harmful to babies. Food and beverage containers are tested for levels of BPA that could be ingested if they leak.

Phthalates are chemical compounds used to make plastics more elastic and durable. It poses a risk to babies if taken into the body. The limit for phthalate content in children's toys or care products has been set.

Flame retardant chemicals are used to reduce the risk of ignition of toys and materials. For example, these chemicals are found in floor mats, nursing pads, mattresses, chairs and strollers. Although these chemicals prevent the spread of flame in the event of a fire, they have adverse health effects on infants and children.

Formaldehyde is a volatile organic compound. It is a harmful chemical that evaporates easily. Baby hygiene products such as shampoo and soap contain trace amounts of formaldehyde.

In the test, analysis, measurement and evaluation studies carried out in our organization, national and international standards and applicable legal regulations are complied with and reliable and impartial results are obtained. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also baby products testing services.
