Metric hex head screws/bolts, defined in the DIN 931 standard published by the German Institute for Standardization (DIN), are externally threaded fasteners with a hexagonal washer-faced head and a chamfered end to facilitate mating with an internally threaded component.

Hex screws have a partially threaded shank and are manufactured to very tight tolerances. Metric hex head screw/bolts are manufactured from marine grade stainless steel as well as aluminum, brass nylon and steel, with diameters ranging from M5 to M52.
The DIN 931 standard consists of two parts:
Similarly, the ISO 4014 standard published by the International Standards Organization (ISO) describes the characteristics of hex head bolts with threads from product class A, M1,6 to M64 and including M64 (ISO 4014 Hex head bolts - Product classes A and B). This standard includes threads from M1,6 to M24 with nominal lengths up to 150 mm (whichever is shorter) for product class B and threads with nominal lengths greater than 24 mm on M150 (whichever is shorter).
Another standard in this regard is the following standard published by the British Standards Institute (BSI): BS 3692 ISO Metric precision hex bolts, screws and nuts, specification.
With their hexagonal shape, hex head screws provide more torque than conventional circular head screws. However, it is not possible to insert and remove them using a standard flat head screwdriver bit.
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it has given for businesses in various sectors, our organization, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, within the scope of DIN 931 standard, for hex head screws/bolts, within the scope of ISO 4014 standard, hex head bolts ( It also provides testing services for ISO metric precision hex bolts, screws and nuts for product classes A and B) and within the scope of the BS 3692 standard.
