DIN 1816 Round Nuts With Holes

DIN 1816 Round Nuts With Holes

The DIN 1816 standard published by the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) describes the requirements for round nuts with adjusting pin holes. Eyelet nuts are used as an attachment point for situations where pushing, pulling, lifting or fixing is required. Such nuts are generally used in industrial applications. However, it is often misunderstood and misused.

DIN 1816 Round Nuts With Holes

Round nuts with holes are also known as ring nuts. Ring nuts are produced in many different designs depending on the place of use and application.

Technically speaking, the upper round hole is the eye. This region is the part of the ring that is forged, welded or bent. The part where the body of the nut meets the eye and which is resistant to bending is the shoulder. The threaded handle part attached to the hollow ring is called the shaft.

Some of the definitions included as standard on through-hole round nuts are: size or ideal load, quality for alloy eyelet nuts, and the name or trademark of the manufacturer.

Depending on the structure of the shoulder section where the body and eye sections meet, and which provides resistance to bending, these types of nuts are designed in two groups : round nuts with shoulders and round nuts without shoulders. Round nuts with shoulders are manufactured with a shoulder at the point where the body and eye sections meet. This shoulder structure reduces bending stresses in the shaft section. These types of nuts are generally used for lateral or angular loading. For the nut to be strong, the shoulder section must be in the same direction as the loading angle. Differences in loading angles can cause a decrease in standard values. Round nuts without shoulders are generally flat-type round nuts with holes. These are only preferred for vertical or inline lifting. They are not suitable for lateral or angular loading. Depending on the application, round nuts with holes are produced in different shapes.

Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, our organization also provides testing services for round nuts with inner holes, within the scope of DIN 1816 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
