DIN 1444 Head Pins (With Hole/Without Hole) - ISO 2341 Head Snap Pins

DIN 1444 Head Pins (With Hole/Without Hole) - ISO 2341 Head Snap Pins

The DIN 1444 standard, published by the German Institute for Standardization (DIN), describes the requirements for head pins. Similarly, the ISO 2341 standard, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), describes the specifications for head pins with metric dimensions and nominal diameters ranging from 3 to 100 mm (ISO 2341 Head pins ). This standard prescribes two types of head pins:

DIN 1444 Head Pins (With Hole/Without Hole) - ISO 2341 Head Snap Pins

  • Type A: Without split pin hole
  • Type B: With split pin hole

Head pins are generally produced from carbon steel and stainless steel. Types of surface protection electrolytic coating (zinc or zinc nickel alloy). Among all the surface coatings of zinc and its alloys, the zinc nickel alloy has the greatest advantage. In this way, the product gains more resistance to corrosion. It also gains high resistance to abrasion. For railway applications and where split pins are subject to varying transverse forces, it is recommended to use the next larger split pin and the hole diameter corresponding to that specified.

According to the DIN 1443 standard, head pins are evaluated in two forms:

  • Form A = Without split pin holes
  • Form B = with split pin holes

As part of a fastener, a fork provides a method of allowing rotation in some axes while restricting rotation in others. There are two main types of cotter pins: threaded and unthreaded. Toothless cotter pins have a domed head at one end and a cross hole at the other. A cotter pin or split pin is used to hold the cotter pin in place. Threaded cotter pins have a partially threaded shaft on one end and a shaped head on the other. This head has a lip that acts as a stop when inserting the pin into the clamp, and a flattened tab with cross holes. The flattened protrusion allows easy insertion of the pin and the cross hole allows mouse manipulation of the pin.

Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it has given for businesses in various sectors, our organization, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, within the scope of DIN 1444 standard, for head pins (with/without holes) and within the scope of ISO 2341 standard, with head. It also provides testing services for cotter pins.
