In the EN 16711-3 standard, which is a European standard, a test method is defined to determine the rate of lead release from all materials of textile products.

By this test method, such an article or any accessible part of an article,
are detected.
If products containing lead or its compounds are ingested repeatedly, exposure to lead causes serious and irreversible neurobehavioral and neurodevelopmental effects in children whose central nervous systems are in development. Therefore, restrictions are imposed on the use of lead and compounds, especially in products that children put in their mouths.
The test method defined in the EN 16711-3 standard includes requirements for determining the release of lead from materials with direct and prolonged skin contact. For coated articles, it should be ensured that the release rate is not exceeded for a period of at least two years under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use of the article.
The test method in question is carried out using an artificial saliva solution. Meanwhile, the REACH directive on the restriction of chemicals also applies to materials that can be put into the mouth by children, regarding lead and its compounds.
Essentially, the EN 16711 standard consists of the following three parts under the main title "Textile - Determination of metal content":
Among the numerous tests, measurements, analyses, and evaluations our organization provides for businesses in various sectors, we also offer services for determining lead emission in textile products using artificial saliva solutions, in accordance with the EN 16711-3 standard, thanks to our trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
