Degradation Inhibitors (Product Type 21) Tests

Degradation Inhibitors (Product Type 21) Tests

Biocide means that kills a biological entity, and biocidal products, with the active substances they contain, have a chemical or biological effect on microorganisms such as harmful bacteria, viruses and fungi, some insects and rodents. With this effect, it restricts the movements of these creatures, removes them, renders them harmless or destroys them.

Degradation Inhibitors (Product Type 21) Tests

Anti-degradation agents, specifically product type 21, are used to control the colonization and growth of microbes and destructive organisms on boats, water equipment, or materials used in water. Depending on their intended use, these products are generally referred to as antifouling paints.

In order to make an appropriate assessment of the risk and exposure to health and the environment as a result of the use of a biocidal product, different types of biocidal products have been identified in the European Union countries. In this way, an evaluation is made for each biocidal product to suit its intended use. There are 22 special biocidal product types in the biocidal products directive in force in the European Union countries. Of these, product type 21 is referred to under other biocidal products with the following title: antifouling products (antifouling paint products).

In the test, analysis, measurement and evaluation studies carried out in our organization, national and international standards and applicable legal regulations are complied with and reliable and impartial results are obtained. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also decomposition inhibitors (product type 21) testing services.
