Shock Tests

EUROLABprovides mechanical shock testing on products according to IEC 60068-2-27 in its state-of-the-art laboratories with its expert team. Mechanical shock is one of the most common causes of non-structural failures in mechanical and electrical systems.

Shock Tests

Shock may occur if:

  • Routine shipping and handling
  • Accidental abuse
  • Normal operating environments of land vehicles and aircraft
  • As a result of explosive events in the war
  • Special environments such as operating explosive bolts and other pyrotechnics

What is a shock test?

The Mechanical Shock test is a test to determine the ability of the equipment to withstand moderately severe shocks from sudden applied forces or sudden movement changes encountered during misuse, improper handling, or field work.

These types of shocks can result in reduced performance or even permanent damage to the devices. Repetitive shock pulses can also cause damage caused by excessive vibration. IEC 60068-2-27 is the most widely used industry standard for performing this test.

Why is it important?

Especially during production and transportation, electrical products can be subjected to serious misuse such as tumbling and drops. Mechanical shock tests ensure that the equipment is able to absorb a certain level of spikes without damage or leaving loose parts.

Features:

  • Maximum Force: 315 kN
  • Max Speed: 300g
  • Maximum Weight: 1000 kg
  • Shock Profiles: sinusoidal, triangular, saw tooth impact
