UN ECE R121 tests cover a series of tests carried out in accordance with the relevant regulation for the evaluation of hand controls, indicators and indicators of M and N category vehicles in terms of location, identification, color and illumination.

ECE regulations define cross-border technical regulations for establishing approval or uniform approval procedures for motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts. Automated commercial vehicles are already fully eligible for approval only through appropriate individual measures in the country in which they will be used. What is missing is a set of rules at the international ECE level.
United Nations Economic Commission for Europe's (UN/ECE) Regulation No. 121 — Covers the uniform provisions for the approval of vehicles and associated tests with regard to the location and identification of hand controls, indicators and indicators.
This Regulation applies to vehicles of category M and N. Specifies requirements for location, identification, color and illumination of motor vehicle hand controls, gauges and indicators. It is designed to provide accessibility and visibility of vehicle controls, gauges and gauges to reduce safety hazards caused by diverting the driver's attention from driving, and to facilitate their selection in day and night conditions.
A vehicle equipped with a control, warning system or indicator must meet the prescribed requirements of this directive for the location, designation, color and illumination of such control, warning device or indicator.
Within the scope of the regulation, many mechanical, dynamic and environmental tests are carried out for the approval of the relevant equipment. For tests to be considered successful, test results must meet regulatory requirements.
