UN ECE R76 tests cover a series of tests carried out in accordance with the relevant regulation for the evaluation of headlights of mopeds equipped with high and low beam headlights with filament lamps.

ECE regulations define cross-border technical regulations for establishing approval or uniform approval procedures for motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts. Automated commercial vehicles are already fully eligible for approval only through appropriate individual measures in the country in which they will be used. What is missing is a set of rules at the international ECE level.
Regulation (UN/ECE) No. 76 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe — Covers the uniform provisions regarding the headlight approval of mopeds equipped with headlights emitting driving and crossing beams and the tests applied accordingly.
This regulation applies to the approval of headlights using filament lamps, producing high beam and low beam, provided for the equipment of mopeds and vehicles treated in this way.
The correct position of the lens in relation to the optical system should be clearly marked and locked against rotation in use. For the measurement of the illumination produced by the headlight, a measurement screen described in Annex 3 to this Regulation and Regulation/No. 37 will be used. The standard filament lamp must be adjusted according to the current reference luminous flux of the same regulation.
Within the scope of the regulation, many mechanical, dynamic and environmental tests are carried out as well as measurements for the approval of the relevant equipment. For tests to be considered successful, test results must meet regulatory requirements.
