UN ECE R93 tests cover a series of tests carried out in accordance with the relevant regulation for the evaluation of pressure tires of commercial vehicles in categories M2, M3, N, O3 and O4.

ECE regulations define cross-border technical regulations for establishing approval or uniform approval procedures for motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts. Automated commercial vehicles are already fully eligible for approval only through appropriate individual measures in the country in which they will be used. What is missing is a set of rules at the international ECE level.
Regulation No. 54 (UN/ECE) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe — It covers the uniform provisions regarding the approval of pneumatic tires and trailers for commercial vehicles and the tests applied accordingly.
This Regulation covers only new pneumatic tires designed for vehicles of categories M2, M3, N and O3 and O4. However, it does not apply to tire types identified with speed category symbols corresponding to speeds below 80 km/h.
Pneumatic tires are similar to your regular car or truck tires and are most commonly used outdoors. There are two types, solid pneumatic and air pneumatic. Air pneumatics are filled with air, while solid pneumatics are made of rubber and are more puncture resistant. Solid pneumatic tires are more commonly used if there are nails, rocks, or other sharp objects around the yard or work area.
The dimensions and pressure values of the pneumatic tires must be in accordance with the values reached with the formulation given in the regulation.
Within the scope of the regulation, many mechanical, dynamic and environmental tests are carried out as well as measurements for the approval of the relevant equipment. For tests to be considered successful, test results must meet regulatory requirements.
