UN / ECE R 67 Tests

ECE regulations define cross-border technical regulations for establishing approval or uniform approval procedures for motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts. Automated commercial vehicles are already fully eligible for approval only through appropriate individual measures in the country in which they will be used. What is missing is a set of rules at the international ECE level.

Regulation (UN/ECE) No. 67 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, Approval of special equipment of motor vehicles using liquefied petroleum gases in propulsion systems, and approval of a vehicle with special equipment for the use of liquefied petroleum gases in the propulsion system regarding the installation of such equipment It covers the relevant provisions and the tests applied accordingly.

Special equipment of vehicles using LPG in the propulsion system must work correctly and safely. The materials of the equipment that comes into contact with LPG will be suitable for this. Correct and safe operation of the equipment parts that are likely to be affected by LPG, high pressure or vibration must be subjected to the relevant test procedures described in the annexes of this Regulation.

Within the scope of UN ECE R67 regulation, tensile test, bending test, burst test, hydraulic tests, pressure test etc. dozens of different dynamic, mechanical and environmental tests are applied. For tests to be considered successful, test results must meet regulatory requirements.
