EN 54 Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems Tests
The construction products regulation numbered 305/2011 published in the European Union countries is a legal regulation that determines the harmonious conditions for the marketing of construction materials and replaces the construction products directive. This regulation is designed to simplify and clarify the existing framework for the placing on the market of building products.

The EN 54 standard, which is a European standard, has been prepared within the scope of the said regulation, and this set of standards are mandatory standards that determine the requirements and laboratory tests for each component of the fire detection and fire alarm system. It ensures the free movement of construction products in the European Union market.
This standard consists of the following sections under the main title of "Fire detection and fire alarm systems":
- Part 1: Introduction
- Part 2: Control and indication equipment
- Part 3: Fire alarm devices - Sirens
- Part 4: Power supply equipment
- Part 5: Heat detectors - Point detectors
- Part 7: Smoke detectors - Point smoke detectors using scattered light, transmitted light or ionization
- Chapter 10: Flame detectors - Point detectors
- Chapter 11: Manual call points
- Chapter 12: Smoke detectors - Line detectors using optical beams
- Part 13: Compatibility assessment of system components
- Chapter 16: Voice alarm and indication equipment
- Chapter 17: Short circuit isolators
- Chapter 18: Input/output devices
- Chapter 20: Aspirating smoke detectors
- Chapter 21: Alarm transmission and fault warning routing equipment
- Chapter 22: Resettable in-line heat detectors
- Part 23: Fire alarm devices - Visual alarm devices
- Chapter 24: Voice alarm systems components - Loudspeakers
- Chapter 25: Components using radio links
- Chapter 26: Point fire detectors using carbon monoxide sensors
- Chapter 27: Smoke channel detectors
- Chapter 28: Non-resettable inline heat detectors
- Chapter 29: Multisensor fire detectors - Point detectors using a combination of smoke and heat sensors
- Part 30: Multisensor fire detectors - Point detectors using a combination of carbon monoxide and optionally heat detectors
- Section 31: Multisensor fire detectors - Point detectors using a combination of smoke, carbon monoxide and optionally heat sensors
