The standard “IMO 2010 FTP Code Part 10 - Testing of fire-restricting materials for high-speed craft” published by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) describes a procedure specific to high-speed craft. This standard relates to fire-restricting materials, particularly surface materials in bulkheads, wall and ceiling linings, and materials used in furniture and other components.

If the materials used in high-speed craft are required to have fire resistance properties, these materials must comply with this standard.
Surface materials on bulkheads, wall and ceiling linings, supporting structures, furniture and other structural or interior components which are required to be fire-restrictive materials in accordance with the provisions of “HSC Code 1994 International Safety Code for High Speed Craft (MSC.174(79))” or “HSC Code 2000 International Safety Code for High Speed Craft (MSC.97(73))” shall be tested and evaluated in accordance with the fire test procedures specified in the annex to this standard (Annex 1). Fire-restrictive materials are as defined in the HSC Code 2000 standard.
Partitions, wall and ceiling coverings, including their supporting structures, are tested in accordance with the standard “ISO 9705 Reaction to fire tests - Room corner test for wall and ceiling covering products” published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), as described in the annex to this standard. Partitions, wall and ceiling coverings, including their surface covering materials, are tested in their end-use configurations.
Surface materials on partitions, walls and ceiling linings, including their supporting structures, qualify as fire-restrictive materials if the following six criteria are met during a 20-minute test period in accordance with the annex to this standard:
Materials that qualify as fire-restrictive materials may be used for furniture or other components using this test method if the material closely represents (i.e., similar thickness and surface finish) the configuration tested as a room lining in its actual end use.
Materials used for furniture and other components are tested as described in the annex to this standard (ANNEX 2). This does not include vertically supported textiles and films, upholstery or bedding, which are tested in accordance with this standard.
Materials used for furniture and other components qualify as fire-restrictive materials if the following four criteria are met:
Several international standards considered in this standard include:
Among the numerous testing, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies that our organization has carried out for businesses in various sectors, it also provides testing services defined in the “IMO 2010 FTP Code Part 10 - Testing of fire-limiting materials for high-speed craft” standard with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
