Developed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), IMO FTPC Part 11: Fire test procedure for fire-resistant parts of high-speed vessels is a fire test procedure to determine the flammability of fire-resistant parts of high-speed vessels.

When structures to be used in high speed boats must have fire resistance properties, their materials must comply with this procedure. Such structures include fire resistant bulkheads, decks, ceilings, cladding and doors. Fire resistant sections of high speed boats are tested and evaluated according to the fire test methods specified in the appendix to this procedure.
Materials used in fireproof sections must be non-combustible or fire-restrictive as verified according to the procedure appendices. It can also be applied to certain structures such as windows, fire dampers, pipe penetrations and cable transits. These methods are also applicable where the control system of fire doors is required to operate in case of fire. When flammable coatings are allowed to be provided in fire resistant compartments with non-combustible substrates, the low flame spread properties of these coatings should be verified if necessary.
Structures to be used on high speed boats must have fire resistance properties to the satisfaction and approval of management. In this context, fire resistance is the ability of the structure to isolate or protect an area from the effects of fire in an adjacent area by performing separating performance during a fire. Such structures are fire resistant bulkheads, decks, ceilings, cladding and doors.
For medium fire hazard fire resistant sections are classified as “fire resistant sections 30” and for major fire hazard fire resistant sections as “fire resistant sections 60”. The classification is expressed, for example, as “Load-bearing fire-rated deck 60” and “Non-load-bearing fire-rated bulkhead 30”.
The test shall continue for at least 30 minutes for “fire-resistant sections 30” and 60 minutes for “fire-resistant sections 60”.
Our organization, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, also provides testing services for IMO FTPC Part 11: Fire resistant parts of high speed boats with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
