This standard includes the principles for the definition, classification and properties, sampling method, inspection and test methods, and presentation to consumers of water-based fire extinguishing and cooling solutions used for rapid extinguishing and cooling of Class A fires, with pressurized or non-pressurized fire extinguishing vehicles and equipment. .
Pressurized water to be used only for Class A fires should not be used for Class B or C fires. Otherwise, it will cause fire spread or electric shock. Class A fires are those consisting of ordinary combustible materials such as wood, paper, cloth, rubber, cloth and even plastics. One of the most recognizable signs of a Class A fire is that fuel sources leave behind ash when burned. These fires are the simplest types of fires and include normal materials commonly found in homes and offices. Class A fires are typically extinguished with water.
