The EN ISO 13935-2 standard, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), defines a test method for determining the maximum strength of welds when a force is applied perpendicular to the weld. This standard includes a test method known briefly as the gripping test.

This test method is mainly applied to woven textile fabrics, including fabrics exhibiting stretch properties provided by the presence of an elastomeric fiber, mechanical or chemical treatment. This test method can also be applied to fabrics produced with other techniques.
The EN ISO 13935-2 standard does not normally apply to geotextiles, non-woven fabrics, coated fabrics, textile-glass woven fabrics and fabrics made from carbon fiber or polyolefin tape yarns.
This test method can only be applied to straight seams, not curved seams. It is also limited to the use of constant elongation rate testing machines.
In fact, the ISO 13935 standard consists of two parts under the main title "Textiles - Sewing properties of fabrics and ready-made textile products":
For the purposes of the EN ISO 13935-2 standard, the grip test refers to the pull in which only the middle portion of the test specimen is held in the jaws of the test machine. The constant elongation rate testing machine is a tensile testing machine equipped with a fixed gripper and another gripper moving at a constant speed throughout the test. The entire test system is almost completely drift free. The gauge length is the distance between two active docking points of a tester.
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it has given for businesses in various sectors, our organization, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, provides maximum strength against seam breakage by using the grip method in fabrics and ready-made textile products within the scope of EN ISO 13935-2 standard.
