In the ISO 105-C07 standard developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), a test method is defined for determining the color fastness of all kinds of pigment-dyed or pigment-printed textile products against wet brushing. This test method does not apply to loose fibers.

This color fastness test method is a test method developed for quickly repeating multiple domestic washes. In addition to washing and rubbing, this method is also used to determine the quality of pigment printing. With this test, the variations in color tone after washing and conditioning are determined. On the other hand, the ISO 105-C07 standard is also used to determine the frictional performance of the printed textile product when washing clothes using detergent. The test usually involves sweating a brush, soap, and soap solution.
When determining color fastness to washing agents, a textile sample in contact with one or two defined adjacent fabrics is mechanically agitated in a soap solution under specified time and temperature conditions, then rinsed and dried. The change in the color of the sample and the staining of the adjacent fabric are evaluated using gray scales. In this evaluation, the color change and color staining are graded to determine the color fastness of any dyed sample to washing.
Colorfastness is the ability of a fabric or other textile to retain its original color without fading or bleeding when exposed to washing, perspiration, strong light, or certain chemicals. Colorfastness of pigment-printed textiles to wet rubbing is also considered within this context.
Generally, fastness properties are expressed using fastness grades. These are typically on a scale from 5, meaning unchanging, to 1, meaning showing significant variation. A grayscale, consisting of five different gray color grades, is used in this evaluation.
Among the numerous tests, measurements, analyses, and evaluations our organization provides for businesses in various sectors, we also offer color fastness testing services for textile products under the ISO 105-C07 standard, specifically focusing on determining the color fastness of pigment-printed textiles to wet rubbing. This is made possible by our trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
