The ASTM D4674 standard, developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), defines the basic principles and operating procedures for using fluorescent light to determine the color stability of plastics when exposed to materials in typical office environments where fluorescent overhead lighting and window-filtered daylight are used for illumination, and temperature and humidity conditions are consistent with the following:

There is no equivalent ISO standard for this application, whose full name is “ ASTM D4674-02a Standard practice for accelerated testing of color stability of plastics exposed to indoor office environments”.
This application describes four methods in which samples are exposed to fluorescent light under controlled environmental conditions. Two of the methods use an exposure device that mixes fluorescent lamps. The other two methods use devices conforming to the ASTM G154 standard (ASTM G154-16 standard practice for operating fluorescent ultraviolet (UV) lamp apparatus for exposure of non-metallic materials).
Method I described in ASTM D4674-02a uses cool white fluorescent lamps and fluorescent UVB lamps with window glass filters and is the same method described in previous versions of this standard.
Sample preparation and evaluation of results are covered in ASTM methods or specifications for specific materials. General guidance is given in the ASTM G151 standard. More specific information on methods for detecting change in properties after exposure and reporting these results is contained in ASTM D5870.
The tests are not intended to simulate any material or product deterioration caused by local weather events such as salt water exposure, biological attack and atmospheric pollution. Results depend on operating conditions and there are a number of operating conditions used according to the parameters of this test method. Within the scope of this method, non-metallic products and materials are tested in general.
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it has given for businesses in various sectors, our organization, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, is the standard for the accelerated test for the color stability of plastics exposed to indoor office environments, within the scope of ASTM D4674-02a standard. It also provides testing services.
