A European standard, EN 1876-1, defines a test method for determining the ability of coated fabrics to resist the influence of low temperatures when subjected to bending at certain temperatures after certain exposure times. This test method is applied to coated fabrics between 0,10 mm and 2,20 mm thickness.

This test method is equivalent to the ISO 4675 standard published by the International Standards Organization (ISO) (ISO 4675 Rubber or plastic coated fabrics - Low temperature bending test).
A test method dealing with a cyclical impact on a material is defined in the EN 1876-2 standard (EN 1876-2 Rubber or plastic coated fabrics - Low temperature tests - Part 2: Cyclic impact test).
In advanced laboratories, high-precision force testing equipment and material testing equipment are used for advanced fabric and textile testing. These devices are designed to perform textile tests in accordance with international standards and are used to test the tear resistance, compressive strength, tensile strength and puncture resistance of any product.
High mobility of molecular segments in a polymer is a condition for the rubbery state, i.e., high elastic elongation. As the temperature decreases, the movement of the segments diminishes. At a certain temperature, the movement of the molecular segments completely freezes, and the material becomes a hard, plastic-like material with low elongation at break. This temperature is called the glass transition temperature. The condition for the rubbery state is, consequently, a low tendency towards crystallization and a low glass transition temperature. If a rubber material is cooled, the glass transition point is reached later, and the material hardens and eventually becomes brittle. This means it is no longer useful as a rubber. If the rubber becomes brittle, it will crack upon bending. A bending test is performed to determine this level.
Our organization also provides bending test services between low temperature tests of rubber or plastic coated fabrics within the scope of EN 1876-1 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors. .
