Total Quantity Analysis

Total Quantity Analysis

Quantity and total quantity analysis (quantitative analysis) is an analysis method used to determine the number of elements or molecules produced during a chemical reaction. Organic compounds consist of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur and halogens.

Total Quantity Analysis

Quantitative analysis is the analysis of the species present in a particular compound. For example, when analyzing a compound, qualitative analysis focuses more on finding the elements and ions present in the compound, rather than examining how much they are present. Quantitative analysis mainly focuses on quantity.

If the presence of certain substances in a sample is known, examining their amount helps to identify certain properties. Knowing the composition of a sample is very important and various analysis methods such as gravimetric and volumetric analysis have been developed to make this possible. Gravimetric analysis provides more accurate data on the composition of a sample than volumetric analysis, but it takes time. Volumetric analysis results in a shorter time and gives satisfactory results. In quantitative analyses, each method has a general feature.

Quantitative and total quantification analysis (quantitative analysis) is the branch of chemistry that deals with determining the amount or percentage of one or more components of a sample. Various methods are used for these analyzes, generally classified as chemical or physical, depending on which properties are used:

  • Chemical methods depend on reactions such as precipitation, neutralization, oxidation or the formation of a new compound in general. The main types of chemical methods are gravimetric analysis and volumetric or titrimetric analysis methods.
  • Physical methods require measuring density, index of refraction, absorption or polarization of light, electromotive force, magnetic susceptibility, and numerous other physical properties.

The basic equipment in all quantitation and total quantification analysis is the analytical balance for accurate weighing of samples and sediments. For normal analytical work, the balance should be able to detect mass differences of 0.1 milligrams. In microanalysis, the balance has to be about 1000 times more sensitive, and even higher precision balances are used for specific measurements.

Our organization also provides total quantity analysis services with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors.
