The ISO 2719 standard, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), describes test methods for determining the flash point of the following types of liquids:

Pensky-Martens closed cup tester is used in these test methods.
This standard describes three different test methods, A, B, and C:
No flash point is observed for certain mixtures during the tests, instead a significant expansion of the test flame and a change in the color of the test flame from blue to yellowish-orange occurs. Continued heating can cause significant vapors to burn outside the test vessel, creating a potential fire hazard.
Technically, kerosene with a flash point above 40 degrees can be tested using this standard, but it seems more appropriate to test kerosene according to the ISO 13736 standard (Abel closed cup method). Similarly, lubricating oils are normally tested according to the ISO 2592 standard (Cleveland open cup method).
The ISO 2719 standard does not apply to water-based paints and varnishes.
Our organization also provides Pensky-Martens closed cup method testing services for the purpose of determining the flash point within the scope of ISO 2719 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors.
