In the European Union countries, since the 1990s, more and more stringent limits have been imposed on emissions from automobiles through standards known as Euro standards. Euro 6 is the latest version of these standards and from 2015 all new cars must meet these limits. A Euro 6 car produces only a very small fraction of the pollutants emitted by a Euro 1 car and much less nitric oxides than Euro 5 cars.

The second phase of Euro 6 was introduced gradually from 2017-2021. Thus, all newly approved cars are tested to meet the limits in various road conditions.
Cars that meet Euro 6 emissions are considered to be the cleanest cars in history. Euro 6 standards impose the most stringent vehicle emission limits ever and push the limits of emissions technologies to produce ever lower levels of exhaust pollutants that affect air quality. For example, diesel particulate filters capture 99 percent of soot and have been applied to every new diesel car since the introduction of Euro 5.
Nitric oxide emission levels have dropped by 2000 percent since 84. The benefits of innovative emission technologies in this are enormous.
Air pollutant emissions from transport make a significant contribution to the overall state of air quality and are other major sources of industry and electricity generation. The purpose of the Euro emission standards is to reduce the levels of harmful exhaust emissions, particularly: nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and particulate matter. At this point, 50 new cars today produce the same amount of pollutant emissions as a car produced in the 1970s.
Gasoline and diesel engines are subject to different standards as they produce different types of emissions. For example, diesel produces more particulate matter (soot), which requires the use of diesel particulate filters.
Today, transportation still accounts for 33 percent of all carbon dioxide emissions, with most of this coming from road transport. Therefore, nitric oxide emissions from road transport are not decreasing as expected, because emissions under real-world driving conditions are often higher than those measured during validation testing.
Our organization also provides Euro 6 emission testing services with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors.
