The “Renault 31-07-049 Engine cooling fan assembly” standard, developed by the French automobile company Renault, describes the required specifications of engine cooling fan assemblies.

Engine fan includes:
If the supplier wishes to use another type of control system, he must contact Renault to find out what specifications must be applied.
Unless otherwise expressly and in writing, the provisions of the standard “Renault 00-10-415 Manufacture and supply of products - General conditions” apply fully to these specifications. The supplier company undertakes to meet the Renault quality assurance approach and the expectations of the alliance new product quality procedure.
If the elements specified in the current specification are insufficient to design and validate the part, it is the supplier's responsibility to request additional data in the form of measurements or tests to be performed by Renault.
The design of the motor fan must comply with the safety requirements described in this specification. In addition, the application conditions must comply with the Renault 00-10-415, Renault 00-10-040 and Renault 00-30-000 standards.
If the engine fans are manufactured using materials that are not covered by the recognized materials panel, a verification plan must be defined in cooperation with Renault in accordance with the standard “Renault 03-20-007 Inspection process for plastic materials”. Ageing tests are carried out at 03 degrees to check whether the specifications required by the Renault 20-007-100 standard are met.
The organic materials used are prepared in accordance with the standard “Renault 00-10-420 Material reference sheet - Draft - Definition”. If the part contains rubber components; these components must comply with the standard “Renault 30-00-118 Rubber parts - General requirements”. Functions must be specified depending on the purpose of the component.
The materials used must also comply with the “Renault 16-00-003 Plastic parts - General requirements” standard.
The protection of metal parts against corrosion must comply with the “Renault 47-01-000 Protection of metal parts and assemblies installed in the vehicle during assembly against ambient corrosion” standard and the “Renault 01-71-002 Protection of repetitive and multi-use parts against ambient corrosion” standard.
For repetitive and multi-user parts, screws (motor, control system, etc.) used for mounting repetitive and multi-user parts and fan mounting system, except for the motor, other components of the motor fan must comply with the functional code against ambient corrosion. The motor must meet the requirements for corrosion resistance, and the fluids must meet the requirements for fluid resistance.
The parts must be free of material deficiencies, impact marks, damages and other visible defects. Shrinkage is tolerated as long as it does not result in loss of mechanical properties or geometric changes. The parts must not have sharp edges and must be rounded as much as possible. This requirement does not apply to the leading and trailing edges of the fan blades.
The engine fan assembly must not have sharp edges, such as injection grooves, burrs, parting lines or surrounding parts such as radiators or pipes during transport. Parts other than motors and mounting parts such as screws, nuts or rivets located inside the engine fan must be black unless otherwise specified in the drawing.
The engine fan must comply with the standard “Renault 00-10-050 Prohibited and restricted substances - Declaration conditions”. In addition, the engine fan must comply with the standard “Renault 00-10-060 Design for recycling”.
Among the numerous tests, measurements, analyses and evaluation studies that our organization has carried out for businesses in various sectors, it also provides testing services defined in the “Renault 31-07-049 Engine cooling fan group” standard with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
