Renault 32-07-003 Roof Interior Linings

Renault 32-07-003 Roof Interior Linings

The standard “Renault 32-07-003 Roof linings” developed by the French automobile company Renault describes the requirements for roof linings, whether glued or not, to the parts mounted on the roof lining. Due to their function, some parts must meet additional requirements that may be specified in the drawing (specific tests) or may be subject to specific product specifications. These additional requirements may modify or replace the requirements stated in these product specifications.

If the part covered by these product specifications contributes to the side impact protection function, this part must meet additional requirements specified in the specifications.

The list of seat components or trim pieces used for deployment area and side protection is specified on the air bag functional drawing.

Unless express written instructions to the contrary are given, the provisions of the standard “Renault 00-10-415 Manufacture and supply of products - General conditions” apply entirely to these product specifications in terms of the supplier's responsibilities.

To be valid, these product specifications are accompanied by the standard "Renault 32-00-008 Interior trim parts - General requirements". Unless specifically stated in the relevant test methods, the tests are carried out at ambient temperature (23 degrees plus/minus 2 degrees and 50 percent plus/minus relative humidity).

The parts must meet the requirements described in the Renault 32-00-008 standard and more specifically the following requirements:

  • Presentation - appearance
  • Tactile flexibility
  • Impact resistance
  • Sunlight resistance
  • Heat aging / resistance
  • Smell
  • Volatile organic compounds (VOC)
  • misting
  • Dust proof
  • Lightfastness
  • Resistance to friction and cleaning products
  • Scratch resistance
  • Resistance to staining by component materials
  • Durability
  • External noise (squeaks and rattles) (it is necessary to take into account the materials that may come into contact with the flooring, e.g. hard coverings and mounting parts, as well as plastic materials or other materials that may create noise.
  • Weight.

The materials used must meet the requirements of the “Used materials” and “Environment” paragraphs in the Renault 32-00-008 standard .

Products defined by current standards are subject to the legal regulations current according to the conditions defined at the date of certification. The certification tests carried out by Renault in the presence of official representatives allow verification that the interior trim parts and their components that form a group and the part concerned meet the above-mentioned standards.

Vehicles must comply with the Renault 32-00-008 standard in terms of safety features and legal regulations on the following issues:

  • Indoor installation
  • Side impact - occupant protection
  • Flammability of interior materials
  • Cabin resistance in light commercial vehicles (LCV)

Regardless of the type of roof covering installed, general characteristics include:

  • Identity features
  • Management of diversity
  • Rebound hardness
  • Cohesion (globular adhesion, adhesion of the appearance coating)
  • heat resistance
  • Moisture resistance
  • climatic aging
  • Tendency to collect dirt
  • Water stain resistance
  • Painting with glue pass
  • Acoustic properties
  • Noise from speaker operation (subsystem test, vehicle test)
  • Resistance to microorganisms
  • Flexibility

Mechanically installed roof sheathing tests include:

Bonding of the assembled parts of the lining

  • Hardness
  • Cable maintenance

Tests for bonded roof sheathing include:

  • Bonding ability
  • Resistance to creep
  • Behavior towards heat
  • Hardness of roofs
  • Repairs

If the roof lining has air conditioning vents, when examining the category of the console vents, they must comply with the requirements of the “Renault 32-02-811 Air conditioning vents” standard.

To ensure the quality of the parts (marking, distortion, friction and premature aging) before assembly, the position (horizontal, vertical or inclined), the maximum number of parts, the type of packaging and especially the mode of transport (truck, aircraft, boat) must be taken into account.

Among the numerous tests, measurements, analyses and evaluation studies that our organization has carried out for businesses in various sectors, it also provides testing services defined in the “Renault 32-07-003 Roof interior coatings” standard with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
