The purpose of the “Stellantis CS.00265 Relevant substance requirements for vehicles, parts and materials” standard, developed by Stellantis, an American, Italian and French multinational automotive manufacturing company, is to inform Stellantis suppliers and personnel about chemical substance bans and restrictions.

Stellantis implements the most stringent global chemical substance restriction, ban and reporting requirements to ensure uniform compliance requirements across a global distribution network, regardless of vehicle and product regional origin or final sales region. Therefore, this standard can be applied to all Stellantis vehicles to ensure substance restriction compliance wherever Stellantis products are marketed.
All references to Stellantis in this standard shall be understood to include all wholly owned subsidiaries and aftermarket activities, such as Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroen, Dodge, DS, Fiat, Jeep, Peugeot, Opel, Vaxhaull, RAM, SRT. This standard applies to all products supplied or manufactured by Stellantis subsidiaries, suppliers and sub-suppliers (e.g. materials, parts, components and vehicle subsystems for production, pre-production, prototype, pilot, development, transfer, original equipment, service/replacement and aftermarket parts and materials) and is intended for use or sale globally.
This standard supplements, but does not override, the responsibility to comply with all laws and regulations applicable to products sold to Stellantis. It is not intended to encompass all global regulations.
Suppliers are responsible for meeting all applicable global regulations for products supplied and shipped to Stellantis locations. Additionally, compliance with this standard is the responsibility of all Stellantis suppliers, as reported data will be used to demonstrate legal compliance.
This standard is complementary to Stellantis standards regarding supplier requirements for environment, health and safety that must be taken into account. These standards define the health, safety and environmental requirements related to PSA industrial and aftermarket activities. They concern chemical products (oils, greases, adhesives) or parts containing chemical products (batteries, oil-coated parts, grease) delivered to the different Stellantis sites.
The prohibited and restricted substance requirements specified in this standard must be complied with as part of the product part approval process. Substance requirements must also be phased in and compliance with this standard must be ensured for products supplied through upstream suppliers. This standard is based on the following stated objectives and structure:
The annex to this standard contains a list of restricted or prohibited chemical substances and substance groups for vehicle assemblies, parts (components), subcomponents, materials, mixtures, chemicals supplied for the production of vehicles or service/spare parts provided for use or sale for vehicles after production (Annex A). These are substances supplied to Stellantis or manufactured by Stellantis or intended for use in Stellantis products. For a list of all individual substances associated with a restricted or prohibited substance category, see the “Global automotive declareable substance list”.
Prohibited substances listed in Annex A, the “Global Automotive Declarable Substances List,” or in a national market are prohibited for use in products supplied to Stellantis. If any prohibited substance is used in a product supplied to Stellantis, the supplier shall be liable for all costs incurred by Stellantis in connection with the use of the prohibited or restricted chemical substance.
For reporting and traceability requirements, material content reporting is required for substances and chemicals mounted on the vehicle. Reporting must be done according to Stellantis rules defined in the standards.
All substances identified as declareable or prohibited on the “Global automotive declareable substance list” listed in Annex A, or known to be declareable or prohibited in a national market, must be disclosed in the report and must not be marketed covertly.
