In the FORD WSS-M99P32-C standard developed by Ford Motor Company (FORD), all thermal, foam gasket and sound absorber / The minimum durability requirements of insulation applications are defined. This includes thermal or acoustic (sound-absorbing / barrier / insulating) parts of the interior passenger, luggage compartment and engine compartment. This standard also includes high temperature applications such as exhaust shields. It also covers ultra-high temperature components that are exposed to heat from turbochargers, EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) systems and exhaust pipes. However, acoustic wheel arches and underbody / engine shields are not covered by this performance standard (these are subject to WSS-M99P32-D2, D3, D4 and D5).

The mentioned standard is used together with another FORD standard, “FORD WSS-M99P1111-A Standard requirements for production materials”.
Acoustic materials reduce the power of mechanical waves, including sound, ultrasound, vibration and infrasound, in a variety of media such as liquids, gases and solids. These materials, together with the application of active acoustics, improve thermal insulation, driving comfort and vehicle safety. In cars, hood liners, powertrains and engine housing are made of acoustic materials to absorb engine compartment noise. Internal combustion engine cars require more acoustic materials for greater comfort and improved noise canceling. Noise control engineers use acoustic materials extensively to reduce noise vibration and harshness.
On the other hand, reducing heat accumulation in vehicles and providing appropriate vehicle temperature levels increase vehicle fuel economy, range, reliability, longevity, passenger comfort and safety. Vehicle thermal management remains key as new technologies, consumer demand, societal concerns and regulations increase.
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, our organization also provides performance evaluation testing services for acoustic and thermal assemblies within the scope of FORD WSS-M99P32-C standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment. .
