In the ISO 16750 series of standards developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), the environmental conditions for electrical and electronic equipment of road vehicles are described and test methods are defined. This set of standards includes definitions and general notes. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements are not covered by these standards.

Essentially, the ISO 16750 standard consists of the following standards under the main title "Road vehicles - Environmental conditions and tests for electrical and electronic equipment":
The ISO 16750-1 standard applies to electrical and electronic systems and components of vehicles. This standard describes potential environmental stresses and requirements for a particular mounting position on or inside the vehicle, and defines test methods.
The ISO 16750-2 standard describes possible environmental stresses and requirements for the particular mounting location on or inside the road vehicle, and presents test methods. This standard describes electrical charges. Electrical loads are independent of mounting position, but can vary due to electrical resistance in the vehicle wiring harness and attachment system.
In the ISO 16750-3 standard, mechanical loads are defined.
In the ISO 16750-4 standard, climatic loads are defined.
Chemical loads are defined in the ISO 16750-5 standard. It is not designed to evaluate whether an electrical or electronic system or component is suitable for operation in continuous contact with a substance such as a fuel pump that is permanently submerged in fuel.
The concept of the ISO 16750 series is to systematically define a set of internationally recognized environmental conditions, testing and operating requirements, based on the actual environment in which the equipment will be operated and exposed during its lifecycle.
The following environmental factors were taken into account in developing this set of standards :
Among the numerous tests, measurements, analyses, and evaluations our organization provides for businesses in various sectors, we also offer environmental conditions and testing services for electrical and electronic equipment in road vehicles under the ISO 16750 standard, with our trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
