Hyundai ES03875-01 Engineering Specification Test and Development Procedure
The “ Hyundai ES03875-01 Engineering Specification Test and Development Procedure” standard, developed by Hyundai Motor Company , describes the following test procedures:

- F/F DR opening and closing durability test
- CATCH & CABLE ASSY opening and closing endurance test
- F/F DR downward hardness test
- F/F DR opening direction hardness test
- RELEASE HANDLE hardness test
- CATCH & CABLE low temperature adverse condition test
F/F DR opening and closing durability test
Environmental condition: Behavior at room temperature (23 degrees plus/minus 5 degrees).
Test condition:
- The working power should be measured after opening and closing are repeated 10 times.
- It is assembled with the minimum TORQUE specified when mounting the H/W.
In the tests, an opening and closing endurance tester is used.
Requirements:
- F/F DR closing force should be 30N or less, there should be no interference in the relevant parts, there should be no permanent deformation (For PUSH-OPEN type, the operating force should be 30 plus/minus 3N.)
- F/F DR POP UP amount should be 25mm or more (For PUSH-OPEN type, it should be 10mm or more)
- For F/F DR, there should be no interference in the relevant part.
- There should be no damage to the hinge or permanent deformation that could cause loosening and functional failure of the PIN.
- There should be no damage or deformation to F/F DR and CATCH when closed in bad condition.
- After the PUSH-OPEN type F/F DR test is completed, no foreign matter should leak into the PUSH OPENER.
- For PUSH-OPEN type, the locked door should not be opened with an opening force less than 150N.
CATCH & CABLE ASSY opening and closing endurance test
Environmental condition: Behavior at room temperature (23 degrees plus/minus 5 degrees).
Test condition:
- The working power should be measured after opening and closing are repeated 10 times.
- It is assembled with the minimum TORQUE specified when mounting the H/W.
In the tests, an opening and closing endurance tester is used.
Requirements:
- The initial working EFFORT of RELEASE HDL should be 30N or less (less than 4.000N after 49 times of endurance test)
- There should be no deformation/damage that could cause cable breakage and functional malfunction.
F/F DR downward hardness test
Environmental condition: Behavior at room temperature (23 degrees plus/minus 5 degrees).
Test condition:
- The working power should be measured after opening and closing are repeated 10 times.
- It is assembled with the minimum TORQUE specified when mounting the H/W.
In the tests, an opening and closing endurance tester is used.
Requirements:
- There should be no peeling of paint due to interaction with the body.
- After removing the load application, the change amount of RELEASE HDL EFFORT and closing force should be within 10 percent, and the permanent change amount of clearance/step difference/relaxation amount should be within 1,0 mm.
- There should be no hinge part noise and deformation.
F/F DR opening direction hardness test
Environmental condition: Behavior at room temperature (23 degrees plus/minus 5 degrees).
Test condition:
- The working power should be measured after opening and closing are repeated 10 times.
- It is assembled with the minimum TORQUE specified when mounting the H/W.
In the tests, an opening and closing endurance tester is used.
Requirements:
- When D5N load is applied, there should be no paint peeling due to interaction with the body.
- After the load application is removed, the change amount of RELEASE HDL EFFORT and closing force should be within 10 percent, and the permanent change amount of clearance/pitch difference should be within 1,0 mm.
- There should be no noise or deformation of the hinge part.
- The breaking strength of the holding area and CAP suspension area should be more than 150N.
RELEASE HANDLE hardness test
Test condition:
- It is assembled with the minimum TORQUE specified when mounting the H/W.
In the tests, the RELEASE HANDLE mounting apparatus is used.
Requirements:
- It should function normally without damage, deformation and separation.
CATCH & CABLE low temperature adverse condition test
Environmental condition: Minus 30 degrees (minus 10 degrees for India/Central North America), soaking for 8 hours.
In the tests, a low temperature environment chamber (minus 30 degrees) is used.
Requirements:
- Upon visual inspection, there should be no freezing due to water ingress.
- After checking the process there should be no functional issues.
