Developed by Hyundai-Kia Motors Corporation, the oldest motor vehicle manufacturer in Korea, the standard “KIA MS210-06 Molded plastic parts - Exterior use” describes a procedure for the performance of molded plastics for automotive exterior trim applications. For engine compartment plastic parts, the standard “KIA MS210-12 Molded plastic parts - Engine compartment use” applies.

Drawing instructions for the parts used are included in the table titled “Types and symbols” given in the standard, based on heat-resistant properties and heat cycle resistance test status (vehicle status and part status).
According to this standard, the heat cycling resistance test must be carried out under vehicle conditions (the “KIA MS210-05 Molded plastic parts - Indoor use” standard applies in this regard).
It is expected that the requirements described in this standard will be met. These requirements for each relevant part are assessed within the scope of the inspection agreement.
In terms of general requirements, the color tone should be within the standard sample range under bright natural light. The surface of the parts should not have any defects, uneven gloss, sunburn, excessive weld lines, flow marks, pin holes, adhesion and other defects.
Parts shall be tested by the methods detailed in this standard and shall conform to the requirements in the table titled “Test items and requirements” given in the standard.
If vehicle testing is not available, testing can be performed under actual vehicle conditions and test conditions can be reported. Vehicle test results take precedence over all other results.
If infrared radiation testing is not available, the test is carried out using parts in the case of simple structural parts. Parts with large internal/external temperature differences or large upper/lower temperature differences should be tested using infrared rays. Headlight/rear combination lamp group, bumper group and mirror group and similar parts are parts with different internal/external temperature differences. Rear spoiler and similar parts are parts with different upper/lower temperature differences.
If the test results differ from each other, improvement methods should be discussed with design engineering and quality control according to the part temperature condition in the field.
The table titled “Test items and requirements” defines the detailed requirements on the following basis:
The standard laboratory condition for testing is 23 degrees plus/minus 2 degrees and 50 percent plus/minus 5 percent relative humidity. Samples should be selected from finished products made under the same conditions as mass production parts or their equivalents. Test samples should be conditioned under standard laboratory conditions for 48 hours. Only parts for heat and humidity cycle resistance test and vibration resistance test should be assembled according to the drawing.
Test methods described in this standard include:
Our organization has a strong staff that closely follows the developments in the world in the field of science and technology and constantly improves itself. Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies provided for businesses in various sectors, there are also test services in accordance with the "KIA MS210-06 Molded plastic parts - Outdoor use" standard.
