NES M0135 Weatherability and Light Resistance Test Methods for Synthetic Resin
In the NES M0135 standard, developed by Nissan Motor Company between Nissan engineering standards (NES), it describes quality criteria and defines test methods for automotive plastic parts, especially in relation to weather resistance of vehicle exterior parts and light resistance of interior parts. Coated parts are tested according to the "NES M0141 Synthetic resin coating test methods" standard.

For the purposes of this standard,
- Weatherability refers to the resistance of parts to aging from sunlight, ozone, rain and snowfall, temperature and humidity, and other environmental conditions to which parts are exposed.
- Light resistance refers to the resistance of parts to aging when exposed to sunlight.
- Exposure test equipment refers to a test specimen holding frame and other related devices used to expose specimens to outdoor conditions.
- Exposure surface refers to the outer surfaces of samples exposed to direct sunlight, ozone, rain and snowfall, and other environmental conditions.
- Radiation refers to some amount of sunlight radiant energy received by the exposed surface of the samples.
- Standard samples refer to standard pieces and test pieces, which are affected by sunlight, temperature, humidity and dust, used for periodic observation or comparison with tested samples, stored under certain conditions and stored in a dry, cool and dark place.
- Effective surface refers to the practical significance of each part's surface. For example, surfaces that can be seen from any direction when the part is actually put into service, or surfaces whose properties have changed and may affect the function of the part.
- Discoloration refers to discoloration due to degradation of colorants such as dyes and pigments, color changes due to deterioration of components other than colorants, and their combination.
Our organization also provides weather resistance and light resistance testing services for synthetic resin, within the scope of NES M0135 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors.
