The FORD WSS-M1P83-D1, D2, and D3 standards, developed by Ford Motor Company (FORD), describe the requirements for high-gloss or low-gloss decorative electroplating.

This standard consists of the following parts:
In the FORD WSS-M1P83-D1 standard, mechanically or chemically coated electrically conductive coating and electro-accumulative copper, nickel and metallurgical coatings for interior parts, decoration and protection of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) or polycarbonate / acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (PC/ABS). Performance requirements for finished coatings of chrome or filled nylon (PA) parts are described.
The FORD WSS-M1P83-D2 standard describes the performance requirements for mechanically or chemically coated electrically conductive claddings and electro-depositional copper, nickel, and chromium finished coatings of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) or polycarbonate/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (PC/ABS) for decoration and protection in exterior, low-temperature applications.
Mechanically or chemically coated electrically conductive coating and electro-deposited copper for decoration and protection of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) or polycarbonate / acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (PC/ABS) in the FORD WSS-M1P83-D3 standard, for exterior, high temperature applications , performance requirements for finished coatings of nickel and chromium are described.
These standards are used together with another FORD standard, “FORD WSS-M99P1111-A Standard requirements for production materials”.
Today, manufacturers in the automotive industry offer environmentally friendly products for use in high gloss, well-balanced metal electroplating and functional electroplating, offering high efficiency and exceptional resistance.
Our organization, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it has given for businesses in various sectors, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, within the scope of FORD WSS-M1P83-D1, D2, D3 standards, performs bright or low glossy decorative electroplating performance. It also provides testing services for determination.
