Renault 31-03-012 Pipes for Brake Auxiliary Vacuum Circuits

Renault 31-03-012 Pipes for Brake Auxiliary Vacuum Circuits

The “Renault 31-03-012 Pipes for brake auxiliary vacuum circuits” standard, developed by the French automobile company Renault, describes the required specifications for pipes installed in vacuum brake assist circuits.

Renault 31-03-012 Pipes for Brake Auxiliary Vacuum Circuits

The provisions of the standard “00-10-415 Production and supply of products - General conditions” apply fully to this standard, unless otherwise expressly stated in writing.

For terms characterizing the structure of pipes

Terms characterizing the structure of brake booster pipes made of organic material are shown in the standard.

Terms characterizing the temperature under the hood, four classes are defined according to the ambient temperature under the hood near the rooms:

  • C: continuous up to 125 degrees and peak up to 150 degrees for the outside of the pipe
  • D: continuous up to 150 degrees and peak up to 175 degrees for the outside of the pipe
  • E: continuous up to 175 degrees and peak up to 200 degrees for the outside of the pipe
  • F: continuous up to 200 degrees and peak up to 225 degrees for the outside of the pipe

Terms characterizing the intended destination of the vehicle

  • Category A = United States, Canada, Australia, and Norway
  • Category B = Other countries

Category A pipes conforming to these specifications must comply with the regulatory texts of FMVSS 106, CMVSS 106 and ADR 42 standards.

The functional plan specifies the general requirements that must be adhered to and the level of detail to be brought to the supplier bid plan.

The supplier plan must be shown on the plan in addition to the indicators specified in the 00-10-415 standard.

Supplier:

  • Reference of these specifications
  • Renault plan number reminder
  • Features required by the Renault plan
  • Identification of regulatory and security features
  • Reference to standard 01-57-117 for suitability of inserts
  • Mass and tolerances of the part
  • Commercial references of materials of all elements forming the pipes
  • Chemical structure of the materials used
  • Numbers of material reference pages
  • Marking of material and location of marking according to standard 00-10-415
  • Any details specific to the production technique used

The main materials used are:

  • Plastics: The materials chosen must comply with the rules published in the Renault Materials Panel 90-00-235. If category A pipes are equipped with end fittings, they must comply with the regulatory texts FMVSS 106, CMVSS 106, ADR42.
  • Rubbers or thermoplastic elastomers: The materials selected must comply with standard 30-00-001.

In terms of recycling, the supplier must indicate all materials used that are part of the NGO list (black/grey/orange) according to the RNES-B-00027 standard. The maximum mass of each of these items must be included in the nomenclature of the supplier's plan. In addition, the equipped brake booster hose must be designed for recycling and comply with the "00-10-060 Design for recycling" standard.

In terms of appearance, the pipelines of all structures, the delivered parts must conform in appearance to the approved parts. They must be free from material deficiencies, cracks, bubbles, blisters, inclusions, cracks, tears, cuts, signs of breakage and similar visible defects. In single-material embedded textile and multi-material embedded textile pipes, the textile layer must not be visible on the surface. The interior and exterior of the delivered parts must be free from any oil or other product deposits that may make them slippery or products that cause a change in the functionality of the part.

The inside diameter along the entire length of the pipeline should not be less than 70 percent of the nominal inside diameter.

Each piece must have complete, visible and readable markings that comply with the requirements of standard 00-10-415. It must also comply with the regulations following directive 2000/53. The following standards apply to the marking and identification of plastic pipes with a mass equal to or greater than 100 grams:

  • ISO 1043-1 Basic polymers and their special properties,
  • ISO 1043-2 Filling and reinforcement materials
  • ISO 11469 Marking of plastic products

For category A vehicles the pipeline must contain:

  • “Dot” symbol
  • Supplier's reference or abbreviation
  • Production date of the pipe
  • Nominal inside diameter or outside diameter of the pipe

The height of these patterns must be at least 3,2 mm and, in the case of pipes supplied in roll form, these patterns must be repeated along the entire length of the reel so that the distance between the end of one pattern and the beginning of the next is not more than 152,4 mm.

For category B vehicles, the marking of parts must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the standard “00-10-501 Renault - Marking of common parts”.

Among the numerous tests, measurements, analyses and evaluations our organization has carried out for businesses in various sectors, it also provides testing services defined in the “Renault 31-03-012 Pipes for brake auxiliary vacuum circuits” standard with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
