Renault 32-03-202 Roller Tendelets - Functioning as a Trunk Lid

Renault 32-03-202 Roller Tendelets - Functioning as a Trunk Lid

The purpose of the standard “Renault 32-03-202 Roller tendencies - Acting as a tailgate”, developed by the French automobile company Renault, is to define retractable handles. They consist of:

Renault 32-03-202 Roller Tendelets - Functioning as a Trunk Lid

  • A mechanical part (spring, winding tube, winding tip, protective casing, etc.)
  • A piece of covering that can be partially or completely wrapped

Tendelets usually serve as tents, luggage covers or light shields. They can be freestanding or attached to the rear rack.

To be valid, this standard must be used together with the “Renault 32-00-008 Interior trim parts - General requirements” standard.

The provisions of the standard “Renault 00-10-415 Production and supply of products - General conditions” are also fully applicable to this standard, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.

For the supply of tentelets, the process defined by the standard “Renault 00-10-001 Product approval process and legal provisions” is fully valid. In every case where a change is likely to affect the mechanical or functional performance of the tentelets, RENAULT must inform the company and the tentelet must be subject to new approval. The tests or checks required for the new approval of the parts are defined jointly between the supplier and Renault.

The supply of products is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Renault 00-10-415 standard, based on the functional plan and the necessary features included in these specifications.

For conditioning, the Renault 32-00-008 standard is followed.

The parts must comply with the flammability regulation of interior materials, according to the requirements contained in the Renault 32-00-008 standard, which describes the general requirements for interior trim parts.

Parts must be manufactured according to a plan established in accordance with the requirements of the Renault 00-10-403 standard or supplier plans resulting from it and approved by Renault, and which includes in particular:

  • Security and regulatory features
  • Fixings
  • Tightening torques of fasteners
  • Kinematics of mechanisms (opening angle, total stroke of the canvas, appearance of visible parts)
  • Standardized designation of materials according to ISO 1043 standard and naming of polyamides according to ISO 1874 standard
  • Determination of protection of metal parts
  • Dimensional tolerances applied to plastic parts (Renault 01-20-801 Standard for tolerances applied to molded plastic parts)
  • Category and function of rubber-based elements
  • Total mass of the product
  • Impact points for shock resistance testing
  • Assembly (trimming) and disassembly (trimming) of the tensioner
  • Efforts to unroll and wrap the canvas

The elements can be connected by bonding, sewing or high-frequency welding, the resistance of the connections under tension due to shear shall be greater than or equal to 3 daN/cm. The tests shall be carried out in accordance with the test methods described in the standards “Renault D11 1157 Adhesives and sealants - Straight angle peel”, “D41 1588 Sealants - Tensile strength of seams” and “Renault D41 1033 Textiles, plastic sheets, plastic-coated textiles - Shear strength of HF welds”. In all cases, the resistance of the connections shall maintain this minimum value of 100 daN/cm after ageing at 3 degrees.

The connection of the tension fabric to the cylinder tube must withstand the force described in the standard “Renault 32-03-225 Tendelets with Collectors - Durability tests”. This test is carried out on 47 pieces aged in pre-rolled configuration according to the Renault D1309 6 test method cycle. At the end of this test, after dismantling the various components, none of the tested parts should show any damage, especially tears or folds.

The resistance of integral fasteners shall be determined at ambient temperature (23 degrees plus/minus 2 degrees) and cold (minus 30 degrees plus/minus 3 degrees). This measurement is carried out on the front and rear attachments respectively. Each axis shall withstand a force of 15 daN applied by a vehicle representative of the vehicle configuration without showing any fracture or separation, regardless of the direction of the force.

In order to determine the resistance of the drawbar ends, a force of 12 DaN is applied to the apron in the X+ direction by means of the drawbar, to simulate closure by the user, after previously blocking the drawbar ends. The following cycles are followed in this process:

  • 23 cycles at 5000 degrees
  • 80 cycles at 1000 degrees
  • 20 cycles at minus 1000 degrees
  • 40 cycles at 1000 degrees, 92 percent humidity level

As a result, there should be no breakage, no damage to the product or component, and 100 percent operation.

Among the numerous tests, measurements, analyses and evaluation studies carried out for businesses in various sectors, our organization also provides testing services defined in the “Renault 32-03-202 Roller tenders - Functioning as a trunk lid” standard with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
