ISO 16750 Road Vehicles - Environmental Conditions and Tests for Electrical and Electronic Equipment
The “ISO 16750 Road vehicles - Environmental conditions and tests for electrical and electronic equipment” standard, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), consists of a number of sections published under the same title. Namely,

- The standard “ISO 16750-1 Part 1: General” applies to electrical and electronic systems and components for vehicles, including electric drive systems and components with maximum operating voltages according to voltage class B. It describes possible environmental stresses and specifies tests and requirements for specific mounting locations in or on the vehicle. This standard contains the terminology for the ISO 16750 series and general requirements. This standard does not apply to environmental requirements or tests for systems and components of motorcycles and mopeds. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is not within the scope of this standard. Systems and components introduced into production before the publication date of this standard or systems and components currently under development may be exempted from meeting the changes in this version compared to the previous version.
- The standard “ISO 16750-2 Part 2: Electrical loads” applies to electrical and electronic systems/components for road vehicles. This standard describes the possible environmental stresses and specifies tests and requirements for specific mounting location in or on a road vehicle. Electrical loads are described in this standard. This standard does not apply to environmental requirements or tests for systems and components of motorcycles and mopeds. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is outside the scope of this standard. Electrical loads are independent of the mounting location but may vary due to electrical impedance (including both resistance and inductance) in the vehicle wiring and connection system. Systems and components introduced into production before the publication date of this standard or systems and components currently under development may be exempted from meeting the changes in this version compared to the previous version.
- The standard “ISO 16750-3 Part 3: Mechanical loads” applies to electrical and electronic systems and components for vehicles, including electric drive systems and components with maximum operating voltages according to voltage class B. It describes possible environmental stresses and specifies recommended tests and requirements for specific installation locations in or on the vehicle. Mechanical loads are described in this standard. This standard is not intended to be applied to environmental requirements or tests for systems and components of motorcycles and mopeds. Systems and components launched for production or systems and components already under development before the date of publication of this document may be exempted from meeting the changes in this version compared to the previous version.
- The standard “ISO 16750-4 Part 4: Climatic loads” applies to electrical and electronic systems and components for vehicles, including electric drive systems and components with maximum operating voltages according to voltage class B. It describes possible environmental stresses and specifies recommended tests and requirements for specific installation locations in or on the vehicle. Climatic loads are described in this standard. This standard is not intended to apply to environmental requirements or tests for systems and components of motorcycles and mopeds. Systems and components launched for production or systems and components already under development before the date of publication of this document may be exempted from meeting the changes in this version compared to the previous version.
- The standard “ISO 16750-5 Part 5: Chemical loads” applies to electrical and electronic systems and components for vehicles, including electric drive systems and components with maximum operating voltages according to voltage class B. It describes potential environmental stresses and specifies recommended tests and requirements for specific installation locations in or on the vehicle. Chemical loads are described in this standard. This standard does not apply to environmental requirements or tests for systems and components of motorcycles and mopeds. Conditions and tests for continuous contact with chemical substances may be determined from other standards or by agreement between the customer and the supplier. Systems and components introduced into production before the publication date of this standard or systems and components currently under development may be exempted from meeting the changes in this edition compared to the previous one.
Our organization has a strong staff that closely follows the developments in the world in the field of science and technology and constantly improves itself.
